• Made of 108 small, dark 10mm Phoenix Eye Bodhi beads, each one worn smooth by time and touch, this mala holds the kind of weight that only years of prayer and practice can impact.
• Bodhi Seeds are revered by spiritual practitioners across the Himalayas. In Sanskrit, Bodhi means "enlightenment," and it was under the Bodhi tree that the Buddha first attained enlightenment. From our DharmaShop curated collection, this mala was hand selected from an antique Bodhi Seed seller just outside of the Boudhanath temple. Here you can see monks from nearby monasteries meditating with similar mala beads.

Collected from the Kavrepalanchok District— one of the only places in Nepal to produce Bodhi seeds—this mala comes from a family who has traded and treasured these beads for generations. Kavrepalanchok is also the hometown of the head of our DharmaShop Nepal team!
